Day 18 - At Sea- May 2

Days spent at sea transiting from one port to another are supposed to be lazy days hanging out by the pool.

Well….. not this time.

At about noon, an unexpected front formed and stayed with us until after midnight. Seas were 10-12 feet with sustained winds of 35 mph coming straight at the side of the ship. Gusts reached over 60 mph.

The ship was tossed so severely (the down side of a smaller ship) that doors flew open on all the closets, glassware was propelled across the room, and drawers were opened. Luckily we’re on a lower deck so it wasn’t as bad as it would have been if we were in our normal suite. But it was crazy. For 9 hours we just hunkered down staying as flat and motionless as we could.

We leave tomorrow (Saturday) and are looking forward to getting home (even before last night’s episode).
