Day 21. It's hard to believe that we are now 3 weeks in and have 5 more to go!
Today was a complete washout. Two days ago, the captain approached the port, dropped anchor, and then decided it was too dangerous to try. Today, he didn't even have the opportunity. Sustained winds were at about 45 mph and he said it would be too dangerous even to get a pilot onboard (which is required).
So we stayed at sea in high winds and surf as a large storm system moved over us and headed to the UK.
Our approach was to eat lightly, find a spot to sit on the lowest deck in the rear and hope for the best. Tomorrow we'll be back in Skagfjordur and the weather promises to be much better.
