Day 23 found us back in Torshavn, the national capital of the Faroe Islands. There was no rain or sun, but the good news is that the wind had dropped to 24 mph! We arrived about 1PM and headed out to explore the city. Apparently, no businesses are open on Sunday except for a few cafes. That gave us plenty of freedom to walk the back streets with virtually no automobile traffic.
We saw a microcosm of what we have been seeing on this trip: sod roofed structures, Danish-influenced architecture, vivid colors, and nice people.
The photos are just a few snapshots. Of course there are some food shots, but I guess I was so hungry I forgot to catch the wonderful salmon filet. The spiced tuna starter and the kiwi and strawberry pavlova were as good as they look.
Tomorrow is our last “at sea” day as we head to the Isle of Skye, then Belfast and Dublin.
