Day 6 - North Atlantic Sea - June 30

Follow our journey on this map.

Day 6 was to be a casual sea day as we headed to the Shetland Islands. And a casual day it was. A heavy misting rain was accompanying a 20 mph headwind encouraging us to stay inside. The sun did appear late in the afternoon bringing some relief.

We spent the morning planning some future excursions and participating in some of the activities they had onboard; Mae competed strongly in the putting competition.

With a focus on not gaining weight over these 2 months, we had a light-ish lunch before enjoying a nap (rough life I know). We did go to the gym where I spent about 45 minutes practicing yoga. If you've never tried it, yoga is tough enough. Yoga on a moving ship in the open seas is another level of trying to maintain balance. I thought it was funny and I'm sure others in the gym thought so too. After doing some weight training, we headed to the private hot tub on the bow of the ship and enjoyed a little sun and the contrast between the cool air and hot water.

The evening was spent with a casual dinner (obligatory food shots below), attending the live performance show, and a stop at the bar for one of their signature cocktails.

Tomorrow will be much more action packed as we explore the Shetland Islands.
